Day 8 - A late entry
After writing the first blog entry for day 8 and having dinner, I felt the urge to go for a walk and fortunately enough, my hotel even took care of that.
Right across the road from my hotel, there is a wonderful geological feature that appears to be a pond surrounded by a number of small craters
The info board at the entrance assured me that in the photo above there is only one real volcanic crater, the pond in the middle. The small fellows around are called pseudo-craters and were formed by gas being pushed to the surface, while the eruption took place in the middle
One of the viewpoints also yielded a good shot of Hverfjall, the volcano I had the chance to climb that day.
